Our owner, Shukri, immigrated to the USA to provide a better life and future for her family both here and in Africa. She found that her passion was helping others and she started by providing translation services. She also worked as a liaison for an African Community Center, assisting others to apply for jobs, complete applications for new business, home, and business loans. She then transitioned into healthcare. She observed a gap in the market for agencies that met her standards of care, respect, and customer service. She worked to open her own agency, Diamonds Home Health Care, Inc. in 2005. She started small, working independently from home for about 2 years. In 2007, she was able to lease an office and employed other administrative staff to help run the business while she built relationships with the community and other providers allowing her to admit clients and hire direct care staff.

Diamonds Home Health Care, Inc. continues to be a women-owned and operated independent home health care agency. Our owner and several of our leadership and administrative roles are fulfilled by African-born, Somali women with strong and long-term ties in our community.

In 2020, we obtained our Comprehensive Home Care license which allowed us to provide a new service line, Private Duty Home Care Services.
